Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

-Mt 28:19

Baptism

"Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification, so that "we too might walk in newness of life." Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments".
(Catechism of the Catholic Church,1131, 1407 and Jn 6:51, 54, 56).)

To baptize (Greek baptizein) means to plunge or immerse; the plunge into the water symbolizes the catechumen's burial into Christ's death, from which he rises up by resurrection with him as "a new creature".

Parent(s) must be an active member of the parish. Parents are required to attend a Baptism preparation class, typically scheduled for the first Sunday of the month. It is recommended that Godparents also attend. Please call the Parish Office to register.

Baptisms are usually celebrated within Mass with the faith community present. Baptisms normally are held the third weekend of the month at the Saturday 5:00 pm and Sunday 12:15 pm Masses. Baptisms may be scheduled for the second Sunday of the month at 1:30 pm. There are no baptisms during Lent. Please call the Parish Office to schedule a baptism.
